These photographs were taken in late June and early July 2010 on our trip around Xinjiang, Gansu and Shaanxi. We took in Kashgar (Kashi), Urumqi, Turpan (Turfan), Lake Kanas, Dunhuang and Xi'an. One of my favourite's is of the goat's heads. The photographs were taken by myself and Andrea Kidd with the exception of the forty-ninth shot, the artwork in the Mogao Caves, which is taken from a publication we bought in the cave site, as photography was forbidden.
